Thank you for visiting. I'm running as a Democrat for Maine House District 105 which includes Cambridge, Canaan, Hartland, Palmyra, Ripley and St. Albans.
I'll be using this site to share my history, experience, skills and my stand on issues I believe are important to people in the area. I also plan to share what happens on the campaign trail and the stories and concerns voters voice as the campaign progresses. I welcome comments, questions and concerns from anyone in the district. I do not claim to have all the answers, but I'm a good listener and problem solver-skills badly needed in Augusta.
Who am I?
I grew up in Union on a poultry farm overlooking Sennebec Lake. Daily chores were a part of life from an early age, weeding the gardens and grading eggs after supper every night. It was natural to learn to hunt and fish before I got to high school, since we had 187 acres.
My skills and experience
As a librarian, I learned to listen carefully and keep asking questions until the other person and I knew what they really wanted in terms of information.
I think I have a skill at fostering problem solving and collaboration. I know I don’t have all the answers, but I like the sense of accomplishment when a group comes together and makes something better.
Life experience and what has influenced my views.
We're all products of life experiences. Some of mine have been ordinary, others life-changing. Combines, they make me who I am and how I believe Roaming through the woods and waters of Sennebec Hill Farm was a far different reality from starting college 2900 miles away, as was going from less than 100 students to 29,000.
